What is Gender Affirming Care?
Gender-affirming care refers to a range of medical, psychological, and social practices designed to support and affirm an individual’s gender identity. At Inner North, we are proud to respect all patient’s gender identity and provide supportive and appropriate care. Here are some ways we do this.
Medical care
We ensure that all general health services are inclusive and respectful of each patient’s gender identity, including necessary screenings and preventive care.
Psychological Support
At our Mind and Movement Clinic, we offer mental health support through psychologists who have specific training and special interests in gender issues.
Social Support
Inner North is a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment. We advocate for inclusive practices amongst our GPs as well as in broader settings such as workplaces and educational institutions.
Respect and Affirmation
Let us know your pronouns - we respect and use each patient’s chosen pronouns in all interactions.
